Ajuris Advocates and Corporate Counsel

Section 1: Basic Information

Ajuris Advocates and Corporate Counsel was founded in 2007 in Islamabad and its Lahore office was established in 2010. The firm represents some clients in Multan and Karachi and there is occasional representation in Peshawar and Bahawalpur as well. The primary work of the firm is litigation that includes Constitutional, Tax and Regulatory work. This work is only at the level of the High Court and Supreme Court. The firm does not undertake cases at the lower courts level. The criminal work is only to the extent of white-collar crime. The transactional work at the Lahore office is no more than occasional opinions, however, the Islamabad office undertakes some transactional work.

Section 2: Structure of the Firm

Ajuris is a medium-to-large-sized firm. There are 2 partners and 10 associates in the Lahore office. There is 1 partner and 4 associates in the Islamabad office. One partner is the managing and founding partner, one partner was hired, and one partner was internally promoted. An office manager handles the accounts of the firm. There is no formal human resources department. Associates are responsible for hiring new associates with final approval from partner/s. There is no hierarchy among the associates.

Section 3: Hiring Mechanism

Summer Internship:The firm offers one-month-long internships during the summers. It can be extended beyond 1 month after approval from the partner. The stipend for the internship is 10,000 PKR per month. The responsibilities of interns include research work and shadowing associates.


Associate:There is no fixed hiring cycle and hiring is done on need bases only. Vacancies are advertised on LinkedIn, but the firm prefers candidates from LUMS. The salary of a newly hired associate is 40,000 PKR per month which is expected to increase this year (2022). An associate is eligible for a performance-based increment, and performance evaluations are done after every six months. Due to these frequent evaluations and increments, the salary of associates can increase in the following range.

60,000 to 90,000 PKR

After Completion of First Year

90,000 to 1,20,000 PKR  

After Completion of First Year

1,20,000 to 1,60,000 PKR  

After Completion of First Year

The associates are offered a 20% cut (Finder’s Fee) if they bring in new cases. This fee initiative is a result of LUMS Alumni’s efforts.

Section 4: Alumni

Currently 5-6 alumni are working at the firm and 2-3 of them are on partnership track.
