Indus Law Firm

Section 1: Basic Information

Indus Law is a young firm that was founded by four partners, including two LUMS Alumni, in 2020. All the partners specialize in different legal fields. The firm undertakes Civil, Constitutional, Transactional/consultation and Criminal (hardcore e.gi murder defense, rape, human rights) work. The firm maintains its offices in Lahore and Kasoor and ad-hoc (through collaboration) offices in Islamabad and Karachi.

Section 2: Structure of the Firm

Indus Law is a small-sized firm. It has 4 partners and 4 associates. There is no defined Human Resources and Accounts department. The clerk and one partner handle the accounts and consult a private party for guidance on a need-to-need basis. There is no hierarchy among the partners and associates.

Section 3: Hiring Mechanism

Summer Internship:The firm offers summer internships. The stipend for the internship ranges from 15,000 to 25,000 PKR per month. The interns, under supervision for associates/partners, are allowed to do all kinds of work that includes, research, drafting, filing and court visits.


Associate:The hirings for the associate position are open all year long. The firm hires associates through references, approaching law schools and offers to previous interns. There is no barrier to entry, anyone who approaches the firm is welcome to join as an associate. However, after joining, their stay at the firm is decided based on their performance and interest in learning. The base salary for an associate is 15,000 to 25,000 PKR per month. The associates get a 10% share of the case/transaction they work on. Moreover, they get a 30% share in the business they bring to the firm. Currently, there is no partnership track for the associates. After an associate has learnt the work, they no longer receive a base salary. They are free to stay with the firm and work on the abovementioned percentage shares or work independently.

Section 4: Alumni

Currently two partners of the firm are LUMS alumni.
