Section 1: Basic Information

Legal Aid Society (LAS) started working in 2014. Its head office is located in Karachi. LAS has 7 offices throughout Sindh including 2 offices in Karachi. There is one office in Islamabad as well. All projects at LAS are related to the Rule of Law that maybe focused on legal research or legal representation for the destitute.

Section 2: Structure of the Firm

LAS is a large-sized organization. LAS has an HR department with 4 team members and a Finance department with 8 team members. Different projects/departments hire law graduates. The following table provides information about different positions in these departments for which SAHSOL graduates can apply. Section 3: Hiring Mechanism

Vacancies for internships and jobs are advertised through Brightsphere, LinkedIn, the LAS website and by approaching law schools.

Internship:Interns are hired on a need basis only and do not receive a stipend. They are hired for particular projects and are required to work accordingly.

Associate Level Positions:The hiring process for all the positions is completed at Karachi Head Office. After submission of the application via the website, HR longlists the candidates. These candidates are further shortlisted for interviews by the relevant interview committee. After the first interview candidates are required to submit a writing sample and if successful appear for a final interview. The salary ranges for associate-level positions are as follows.

The organization offers free pick-and-drop service within Karachi after the successful completion of probation. After one year at the organization, the associates are eligible for gratuity. The firm offers family health insurance to its employees.
