Section 1: Basic Information

Osman Hadi Law Chambers is primarily a litigation firm working since 2017. Its office is located in Karachi and the firm offers representation services in Quetta and Islamabad. There is very limited transactional work. The firm may liaise with other firms for transactional work at the request of their clients. The firm undertakes criminal work to the extent of white-collar crimes and bail applications. Since the High Court has the original jurisdiction in Sindh the volume of work at higher courts is more than lower courts. However, the firm has enough lower courts work for sufficient exposure.

Section 2: Structure of the Firm

Osman Hadi Law Chambers is a small-sized firm with 1 partner and 3 associates. The hierarchy among the associates is “senior associates” and “junior associates”. The office manager at the firm handles the finance department.

Section 3: Hiring Mechanism

Internship:The firm usually does not offer internships. They may hire someone if the candidate comes through a reference.

Associate:The vacancies for the associate position are shared through word-of-mouth. Senior associates shortlist the CVs and conduct initial interviews. The final interview is with the partner at the firm. The firm offers a starting salary of PKR 30,000 which is reviewed after three months. After a certain time (maybe a year) the associates are allowed to take private cases. The firm gives occasional performance-based bonuses. The associates receive a percentage share for bringing business. There is a partnership track at the firm. The partner has a long-term goal of converting the firm into chambers.
