Section 1: Basic Information

Sayeed, Hfeez & Mirza started its business in 2015. The firm has its office in Lahore. The primary focus of the firm is on litigation. It provides legal services in Civil Litigation, Commercial Banking, Property Law and Family Law. The firm provides advisory and consultancy services. The expertise of the firm lie in white-collar crimes but the firm has also done terrorism and murder cases. The firm does not take rape cases. Corporate work is done occasionally.

Section 2: Structure of the Firm

Sayeed, Hfeez & Mirza is a small-sized firm with 5-6 lawyers. There are two equal (no hierarchy) partners. There are on average 3-4 associates with no hierarchy among them. The partners perform the HR responsibilities and the munshi/clerk handles the accounts of the firm.

Section 3: Hiring Mechanism

Internship:The firm does not formally offer internships and prefers to not have interns. The partners allow interns if they feel obligated due to references. These internships are unpaid.

Associate:There is no defined mechanism of hiring and it is done on a need basis only. The partners hire associates through word of mouth, references and approaching law schools. The firm offers 20,000 PKR per month to associates who do not have a license. The Associates with licenses receive 30,000 PKR per month. Associates are eligible for a 10,000 PKR increment every six months if they perform well. There is no defined mechanism of bonuses but the associates may receive performance-based bonuses occasionally. The firm pays a 30% cut (Finder’s fee) to the associates who bring business to the firm. There is no partnership track at the firm.
